The Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Women’s Rights will be given by Asma Jahangir on September 12, 2016 at 4:30pm.

Asma Jahangir is Pakistan’s leading human rights lawyer, well known for her courageous legal advocacy on behalf of women, children, religious minorities, and poor and disenfranchised communities. She is the founder of Pakistan’s first legal aid centre, and was the first woman elected President of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. She has served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights, and has been recognized with numerous international human rights prizes including the Prize for Freedom and the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
