Speaker: Veronica Waweru (Yale University)

Veronica Waweru is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Council on African Studies, Yale. A paleoanthropologist, her research focuses on human and human ancestor adaptations to tropical highlands during the Quaternary. Her work emphasizes knowledge co-production with host communities at study sites in human origins research. At the Council on African Studies, she organizes the African Epistemologies for the 21st Century conference series, which explores Indigenous knowledge. Waweru has also contributed to multiple public human origins science print and video communications through works such as The Rift: Scar of Africa and local language TV outlets in Kenya.
