Dr. Peter Alegi is Professor of History at Michigan State University and the author of several books, including Laduma! Soccer, Politics and Society in South Africa and African Soccerscapes: How a Continent Changed the World’s Game. His new book, co-authored with Gerard Akindes, is titled Cool Under Pressure: Bonga-Bonga’s Global African Football Life (2027, Ohio University Press). Alegi hosts the Africa Past and Present podcast, directs the Football Scholars Forum, and edits MSU Press’s African History and Culture book series.
