Event description:

Ever wonder how Yale University Library selects resources from South Asia? How do librarians make choices about what does and doesn’t get added to the collection? Why are some easily acquired items missing, while some obscure manuscript makes it to the stacks? How have budgetary constraints impacted the South Asia Collection? Join Dr. Brandon J. Miliate, Yale’s Librarian for South and Southeast Asian Studies for a talk on how he is working to develop the Library’s collection of materials from South Asia, the changes he is overseeing, and what might be in store for the future. (And, some reminders/updates on access and availability of resources during the pandemic as well!).
