The Caribbean Studies working group is a group interested in studying, among other things, the history, culture, art, and politics of the various Caribbean nations, its diaspora and their impact on the global scene, as well as the formation of the Caribbean (or Caribbeans) as it has been constituted and reconstituted over time.
The day-to-day activities of the Caribbean Studies working group will take the form of group discussions around specific questions as well as workshops in which graduate students along with faculty members can present their work and receive feedback.
Please join us on 5:00-6:30pm on February 7th for our first meeting of the semester. Our question for that week will be “How do we frame Caribbean Studies?” We will be meeting in the Gordon Parks Room (81 Wall St).
