Event description:

Charles Larratt-Smith currently works at the Department of Political Science, University of Toronto. He does research in International Relations, Conflict Processes and Comparative Politics. His research focuses on a comparative analysis of three neighbouring municipalities in north-eastern Colombia: Arauca, Arauquita, and Saravena. Having served as a ‘laboratory’ for the Colombian government since 2002, while also home to various armed non-state actors, these case studies demonstrate the mixed results which accompany state expansion projects on a micro-level.
