In Parliament, Baroness Elizabeth Berridge of the Vale of Catmose sits on the Ecclesiastical Committee and is Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on International Freedom of Religion or Belief. Elizabeth began co-directing the Commonwealth Initiative for Freedom of Religion or Belief (CIFoRB) in October 2015. This three-year project aims to equip parliamentarians across the Commonwealth to address issues of Freedom of Religion or Belief through advocacy, education and research. The initiative is based both at the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public Understanding of Religion at the University of Birmingham and in Westminster.

Baroness Berridge will be talking about Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (the right to have, choose, change and manifest one’s religion and in particular, its observance in Africa.
