A Crafty Evening with Tangular Irby: Gee's Bend Quilting History
Possible Futures Bookstore
318 Edgewood Avenue, New Haven CT, 06511
August 12, 2026 | 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for a special evening session with author, educator, and Gee’s Bend descendant Tangular Irby as she explores the rich history and artistry of Black quilt making. Drawing from her family legacy and her book, Pearl and her Gee’s Bend Quilt, Irby will discuss how quilting serves as a powerful medium for storytelling, bridging generations and preserving ancestral memories. This community event offers a unique look at how "stitched stories" function as both a vibrant art form and a living record of history. This event is open to all who wish to attend.
BOOK GIVEAWAY: The first 20 teachers who register will receive a free copy of Tangular Irby's book!
