Protecting New Haven Stories | A We Want More History! Event

In collaboration with the national We Want More History! initiative, the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition and the New Haven Museum will host a special afternoon talk. Featuring contemporary history stewards connected to the New Haven Museum’s Unfinished Revolutions exhibition, this panel discussion and audience conversation will address the importance of preserving and sharing the diverse perspectives that shape New Haven’s stories. Participants are invited to explore the exhibitions following the program.

With bold and immersive design, New Haven’s Unfinished Revolutions explores significant moments when freedoms were expanded or restricted in New Haven, connecting local stories to national movements that redefined ideas about human rights and liberty. This program is part of the We Want More History! initiative, a coordinated national weekend of programming designed to strengthen civic health, build community trust, foster democratic dialogue, and showcase the vital role of history in public life.
