Leitner Seminar Series with Yanhui Wu
Dr. Wu is a professor in Economics and in Management and Strategy at the University of Hong Kong. He is also Director of the Digital Economy Research Institute at the HKU Business School Shenzhen Campus, a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London, and a non-residential fellow of the 21 Century China Center at UC San Diego. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics in 2011. His primary research focuses on media economics, in which he investigates both theoretically and empirically how the media affects policy making, public accountability, firm performance, and consumer behavior. Another stream of his research focuses on knowledge-based production, digital platforms, and AI-guided economic activities. He is also interested in studying the Chinese economy, particularly issues related to the labor market and public health.
