Chander Shekhar, currently Rice Visiting Professor at Yale, is Senior Professor and former Head of the Department of Persian and the Center for Central Asian Studies at the University of Delhi. He is also Honorary Professor at the Tashkent State University for Oriental Studies, Uzbekistan and Senior Consultant for the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML), overseeing the preservation of Persian and Arabic manuscripts in India.
