Didac Queralt

Didac Queralt is associate professor of political science. He studies historical causes of modern-day fiscal institutions. He is the author of Pawned States: State Building in the Era of International Finance (Princeton University Press, 2022), which examines the consequences of early access to external finance for long-term state capacity. His has published articles in the American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, the Journal of Politics, the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, Explorations in Economic History, and Comparative Political Studies, among others.
