Asia Beason

Asia Beason is a Master of Public Health candidate at the Yale School of Public Health, specializing in the Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases. Her work focuses on advancing health equity through culturally grounded research and advocacy. 

At Yale’s LEITH Lab, she supports multi-site studies exploring structural inequities, medical racism, and social determinants of health, particularly in Black and other marginalized communities. 

 

Asia earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health and African American Studies from Yale University, where her award-winning thesis, “Grandma’s Hands: Reclaiming the Health Histories of Generational African American Women,” examined Black women’s community care traditions through oral histories and archival analysis.
