Stephen Latham, JD, PhD, is Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics and chairs the committee that reviews social/behavioral human subjects research at Yale. He has published widely in health law and bioethics, with particular emphasis on the legal regulation of novel medical technologies and of human and animal research. He is a Hastings Center Fellow (and a member of the Fellows’ Council); a former board member of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, which gave him its distinguished service award; and serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Bioethics and of the Hastings Center Report.
