Abigail Nissley

Abigail Nissley is a student in Ezra Stiles College, studying Global Affairs and Psychology. She spent her gap year researching sex trafficking and its intersection with migration in Northern Spain, in Galicia. Her work included partnering with local anti-trafficking nonprofits and visiting brothels in Galicia to learn the personal stories of the women, many of whom were living there against their will. As a part of advocacy, she has presented for schools, churches, and groups interested in learning more about anti-human trafficking efforts. She also has written published poems and newspaper articles about her experience in Spain.
She is currently studying Spanish at Yale, inspired by her year living in Spain and her time spent hiking the pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago along the shores of Portugal and Spain.
She hopes to continue visiting and studying in Spain.
She also is a part of the Yale Political Union, Yale Women's Club Lacrosse, and the Yale Policy Institute.
