Ethan Chiu

Ethan Chiu is an MPP student at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs whose research examines technology policy, semiconductor supply chains, and workers’ livelihoods and health. His interests in Latin America include Brazil’s approach to AI sovereignty and how countries in the region navigate U.S.-China technology competition while building domestic technological capabilities. Drawing on his research on electronics workers in Asia, he is interested in comparing how industrial policies shape workforce development, occupational safety, and the distribution of economic opportunities. His broader work explores how governments can advance economic security while ensuring that technological change supports democratic accountability and shared prosperity.
