Halle Keane
Halle Keane is a PhD Student in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese. She primarily studies literatures of political resistance in 19th- and 20th-century Latin America, with a particular focus on how members of marginalized communities form their racial and gender identities in response to political and/or economic violence. Prior to Yale, Halle completed her B.A. in economics and Spanish at the University of Notre Dame, where she examined the theme of political resistance and identity formation in 19th-century Afroargentine press, literature from Revolutionary Cuba, and contemporary Chilean narrative fiction.
