Jack Carew

Jack is a PhD candidate in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) and collaborates with Centro Internacional de Entrenamiento e Investigaciones Medicas (CIDEIM) in Cali, Colombia, on malaria field epidemiology projects. With CIDEIM, Jack is completing a project investigating recurrence of Plasmodium vivax malaria in indigenous communities in the municipality of Pueblo Rico, Risaralda. This project investigates epidemiological, social, and behavioral determinants of malaria transmission, and incorporates interdisciplinary methodologies to determine causative factors of high rates of malaria transmission in this region. Jack collaborates with field epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and molecular biologists at CIDEIM, which has supported a training partnership with YSPH since 2003.
