Vishwanath Madhavan

Vishwanath Madhavan is a junior studying Global Affairs and pursuing a certificate in Data Science. His interests in geostrategy, nuclear security, and Indo-Pacific security brought him to U.S. Pacific Command, where he examined seams between U.S. geographic combatant commands, security challenges across the Indian Ocean Region, and U.S.-India relations.

This summer, Vishwanath interned with the Commander’s Action Group at U.S. Pacific Command — a small, flexible team that stewards ADM Paparo’s strategy, message, and engagements while running special projects. He focused on friction at combatant command seams in the Indian Ocean, regional security architectures, and U.S.-India relations. His work laid groundwork for a larger proposal to centralize U.S. command infrastructure, counter illicit transnational activity, and deter Chinese expansion across the Indian Ocean.
