2026 Yale & Slavery Teachers Institute Cohort Member

I am a fifth-grade teacher in New Haven, Connecticut, and I love helping my students see how history connects to their own lives and communities. We spend a lot of time exploring personal and local roots, looking at stories from the past, and thinking about how people made choices that shaped their world. I like using primary sources and hands-on projects so students can uncover voices that often get left out. I’m looking forward to the 2026 Yale and Slavery Teachers Institute as a way to bring new perspectives and connections into our classroom.
