Arabic Music Workshop with Karin Nagi

Karim Nagi, performing artist & teacher, will demonstrate multiple Arab instruments, using them to communicate the concepts of maqam (modal scale) and iqa’a (rhythmic structure). Students will be able to sing & clap the different melodies & rhythms and participate in the culture through active listening. Within this process, Nagi will share, cultural and contextual information that will,help everyone experience the soul of Arab life.
