Exchanges

The Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies welcomes exchange students to Yale each year through three distinct programs.

The MacMillan Center proudly hosts the Fox International Fellowship, a graduate student exchange program between Yale and twenty leading universities in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. The goal of the Fox International Fellowship is to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries by promoting international scholarly exchanges and collaborations among the next generation of leaders.

For graduate students from other universities who wish to pursue full-time dissertation research at Yale, the MacMillan Center hosts the Visiting Assistant in Research Program at Yale.

Since 2005, the MacMillan Center has also hosted Fulbright foreign language teaching assistants for less commonly taught languages, including Hindi, Indonesian,  Kiswahili, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, and Yoruba.

Please visit the individual pages for each of these programs to learn more about the application procedure, eligibility, and other important information.
