The Allan Bloom Forum hosts Matthew C. Klein, Economics Commentator at Barron’s

Trade disputes are usually understood as conflicts between countries with competing national interests, but as Matthew C. Klein and Michael Pettis show, they are often the unexpected result of domestic political choices to serve the interests of the rich at the expense of workers and ordinary retirees. Matthew C. Klein is the Economics Commentator at Barron’s and the co-author of TRADE WARS ARE CLASS WARS: HOW RISING INEQUALITY DISTORTS THE GLOBAL ECONOMY AND THREATENS INTERNATIONAL PEACE. He has previously written for the Financial Times, Bloomberg View, and The Economist. Before entering journalism, Matt was a research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations and an investment associate at Bridgewater. He graduated from Yale with a BA in History.
