Faculty Initiatives are sustained, faculty-led programs organized around intellectual themes that advance research and teaching at Yale University. These initiatives—spanning fields such as religion, history, digital humanities, and transregional studies—support collaborative scholarship, foster interdisciplinary exchange, and create enduring frameworks for seminars, workshops, and scholarly events.
Through these long-term projects, the Council on East Asian Studies facilitates focused inquiry into the cultures, histories, and connections of East Asia and its neighboring regions.
