Demilade Omolade

B.A., Council on African Studies

Demilade Omolade graduates from Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and an Advanced Language Certificate in Yoruba. During his time as an undergraduate, Demilade pursued his passion for community health by partnering with local organizations to address barriers to food security, housing, clothing access, and affordable clinical care in New Haven. Concurrently, his study of Yoruba language and culture deepened his interest in Nigeria’s contemporary social landscape and the sociopolitical forces shaping Africa’s future. Through topical research, creative storytelling, and engagement with innovation-focused groups on campus, Demilade brought together his interests in health and Africa through a fieldwork experience in Nigeria. After graduation, Demilade will continue pursuing this intersection as he begins his MD at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
