Ebunoluwa Akingbehin

Ebunoluwa Oluwakemi Akingbehin is an experienced Yorùbá language educator and cultural ambassador currently serving as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) at Yale University. In this role, she teaches the Yorùbá language while promoting the richness of Yorùbá culture through language instruction and cultural engagement, fostering greater appreciation and understanding of Nigeria's cultural heritage within the university community.

 

With over six years of teaching experience in both public and private schools, Ebunoluwa has dedicated her career to the teaching of Yorùbá language and culture. She has consistently worked with students to develop their language skills while nurturing an appreciation for their cultural identity. Beyond the classroom, she has actively coordinated and mentored students for cultural performances and heritage events, both within schools and in the wider community, drawing on her strong background in Yorùbá language, literature, and cultural studies.

 

As a Fulbright FLTA at Yale University, Ebunoluwa is broadening her perspective on language education by engaging with innovative teaching methods, contemporary learning approaches, and cross-cultural exchange. She is committed to applying the knowledge and experience gained through the programme to support the growth of language education and contribute to the advancement of education in Nigeria.
