Gina Amico

Gina Amico is a Fellowship Coordinator at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University, where she leads the coordination and administration of the Center’s fellowship and exchange programs, including the Fox International Fellowship, Visiting Assistants in Research (VAR), and Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) programs. In addition to her programmatic responsibilities, she serves as co-chair of Future Leaders of Yale (FLY), an employee resource group focused on cultivating emerging leaders, fostering professional development, and strengthening community and engagement across the university.

Gina’s professional experience spans international education, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and organizational development. Prior to joining Yale, she taught English and history in Connecticut and completed three terms of service with AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America), supporting education-focused nonprofits in New York and Connecticut. She also served as a Primary Literacy Specialist with the Peace Corps in Guyana, South America, where she contributed to literacy education and community-based development initiatives.

Gina holds a Master of Science in International Development and Service and a Master of Business Administration. She is currently pursuing an EdD in Learning and Organizational Change, furthering her interests in leadership development, institutional change, and sustainable organizational practices. Her graduate research included fieldwork at educational institutions in New York City, Siena, Italy, and Guayaquil, Ecuador, exploring sustainable program development, volunteer management, and the development of meaningful school-community partnerships.
