Hanifah Ouro-Sama
B.A., Council on African Studies
Hanifah Ouro-Sama earned two bachelor's degrees at Yale, in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and African Studies, along with a certificate in Global Health Studies. Her interest in both disciplines is rooted in a desire to understand healthcare delivery through sociocultural lenses, particularly as it relates to Afro-diasporic and other historically marginalized communities. Her African Studies thesis examines the consequences of skin-bleaching creams in Sub-Saharan Africa across molecular, clinical, and public health dimensions. After graduation, she will conduct research at the National Institutes of Health.
