Olívia Leandro Sá Motta
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant—Portuguese
Olívia is a 27-year-old Brazilian educator who will be teaching Portuguese at Yale University this year. She teaches English, French, and Portuguese for foreigners, and holds a bachelor's degree in Translation (English–Portuguese) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in literary studies at the same institution. Her research focuses on the metaphors and puns found in two Brazilian and two French translations of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Olívia is thrilled about the opportunity to work as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) at Yale and looks forward to applying insights from her research in the classroom.
