Wei Song

Fox International Fellow

Wei Song holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the Department of International Studies at the University of Tokyo. Drawing on fieldwork experience in rural Indonesia and Cambodia, as well as professional experience as a data analyst, he is interested in combining local experimentation with data-driven approaches to better understand context-specific constraints and opportunities. His current research examines small-scale intensive shrimp farming in Vietnam. He hopes to contribute to ensuring that technological progress leads to meaningful improvements in the livelihoods of marginalized and vulnerable communities. He also has a strong interest in positive psychology and hopes to bring its perspectives into development studies in the future.
