Yinlin Wan

Yinlin WAN is a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies (GSICCS), Waseda University, Japan. Her research focuses on energy politics and infrastructure security. She holds a BA in hospitality management and a MA in political science. In 2021, during her master's program, she joined an exchange program at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, where she took advanced courses on global affairs and environmental governance in Europe. Drawing on this experience, her master's thesis compared the different positions of the United Kingdom and Germany in EU climate cooperation, showing how member states can use EU climate governance to reshape domestic power structures and promote their own policy preferences. After entering the Ph.D. program at Waseda University, she began examining the changing geopolitical dynamics of Eurasian natural gas pipeline networks from the perspective of transit countries.
