Working Group
The current GLC Working Group (2023-2025), led by co-chairs Austin Choi-Fitzpatrick and Anna Mae Duane, is focused on The Future of Slavery and Emancipation. The Working Group explores the possibility that contemporary efforts to understand and end slavery have operated within an era that is drawing to a close. This possibility raises two questions: What is the future of slavery and emancipation? And How to prepare for that future? Learn more about this working group here.
The inaugural GLC Working Group (2016-2018), led by co-chairs Genevieve LeBaron and Jessica Piley, focused on debates over what works (and what doesn’t) in the antislavery policy realm. The result was an international conference (“Fighting Modern Slavery: What Works?”) and an edited volume (Fighting Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, Cambridge University Press).
