Ishita is the Program Coordinator for the South Asian Studies Council. Ishita brings to Yale a passion for event planning and graphic design honed through experience as a cultural events coordinator and graphic designer in the Intercultural Center at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she was also president of the Southern Asia Society.
She received her B.S. in Biology with a minor in East Asian Studies from Saint Mary’s College, and has knowledge of Telegu, Japanese, and Spanish. She has over 15 years of training in Kuchipudi, a classical dance style originating from southeast India.
