Meredith Shepard is Postdoctoral Associate at the MacMillan Center’s Council on African Studies. She received her Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University. Her current book project, “The Art of Reconciliation in Rwanda,” examines the social, ideological, and material role of cultural productions in Rwanda’s national reconciliation process. She is also at work on a comparative analysis of Rwandan “hate radio” and President Trump’s tweets. Material from her dissertation is forthcoming in The Journal of Commonwealth and Postcolonial Studies.
