Next Generation Regional Futures is built on the idea that students are not only learners, but collaborators in the production of global knowledge.

Each student researcher pursues a project aligned with their academic training and regional focus, works in consultation with faculty and subject-matter experts, and produces publishable, public-facing research.

The work of the Next Generation Regional Futures research assistants is organized across the MacMillan Center’s core thematic areas. Reflecting the interconnected nature of global challenges, some outputs touch on multiple themes. In those cases, the resources are listed under multiple themes. Where possible, there are also connections to other Regional Futures Lab endeavors.
