Kevin Donovan is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre of African Studies, University of Edinburgh. He is the author of Money, Value, and the State, a study of East African decolonization as problem of economic self-determination and valuation, covering topics like central banking and smuggling. With Emma Park, he is writing another book, which may be called Parastatal, an examination of the political and economic culture surrounding Kenya’s largest corporation, Safaricom. He received his PhD in Anthropology & History at the University of Michigan. His work is available at http://kevinpdonovan.com
