Degree Programs
MacMillan is home to three master’s degree programs—in African Studies, East Asian Studies, and Russian and Eastern European Studies—and five undergraduate majors—in African Studies; East Asian Studies; Latin American Studies; Middle East Studies; and South Asian Studies.
Joint Degree Programs
To enhance the educational opportunities of its graduate students, the MacMillan Center collaborates with four of Yale’s professional schools— the School of the Environment, the Law School, the School of Management, and the School of Public Health. Together, they have developed joint-degree programs that offer a strong connection between two demanding courses of study while also fulfilling the requirements of each separate school.
Simultaneous Degrees
A joint degree enables graduating students to receive an MA and the equivalent degree from the Yale professional school.
Graduate Certificates of Concentration
Open to all graduate and professional students at Yale, the MacMillan Center sponsors graduate certificates of concentration through the Councils on African, European, Latin American & Iberian, and Middle East Studies.
Visiting Scholars
Visiting faculty and scholars at the MacMillan Center participate in weekly colloquia and seminar series, give lectures and invited talks, teach courses across the university, and conduct their own research for publications and projects. Their diverse perspectives and experiences help to enrich the academic environment for our students, faculty members, and other scholars.
Exchanges
The MacMillan Center hosts three vibrant exchange programs that bring graduate students to Yale from nearly all regions of the world. In addition, the Fox International Fellowship also sends Yale students to twenty partner universities around the globe.
