The European Studies Council (ESC) at the Yale MacMillan Center supports working groups that enable innovative research on Europe’s past and present in the context of regional and global interactions. The working groups collaborate with schools and departments throughout Yale to support faculty, students, and visiting scholars to share their interdisciplinary expertise on European affairs. The Council aims to foster a wider understanding of Europe as both a place and an idea, reflecting the evolving nature of the region and its network of connections throughout the world.
Each year the ESC sponsors working groups that gather faculty and graduate students for reading, discussion, and inquiry into shared intellectual interests of and related to European, Eurasian and Russian Studies—some groups are discipline-based; others are interdisciplinary.
