Zhang Yijun

Yijun is a PhD candidate at the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore. She holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from NYU Shanghai and an Mphil in Economic Research from University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on behavioral and experimental economics, especially individual decision-making efficiency and the effect of government policies and nudging interventions. The former includes evaluating the impact of visual salience on decision-making process and its real-life applications; and the latter includes evaluating the effect of government policies on consumer panic buying and how nudging interventions can mitigate panic buying. The broader research agenda aims to help policymakers better understand the causes of irrational behaviours in decision-making and provide them with scientific evidence and strategies on how to mitigate irrationality and improve public welfare.
