“The Ends of Empire: Visual Sovereignty and the Later Byzantine Gift”

The lecture explores the gift exchange culture between the late Byzantine state and other political agents in the east and west. The lecture is organized by the The Medieval-Renaissance Forum and co-sponsored by the Hellenic Studies Program.
