"Global Greece; C.A. Doxiadis and Planning in the Network Era"
Panayiotis Tournikiotis has studied architecture, town planning, geography and philosophy in Athens and Paris. His research focuses on critical History and Theory and the way understanding the past may contribute to the interdisciplinary establishment of design strategies in architecture and town planning. He has authored and edited many books including Adolf Loos, The Parthenon and its Impact in Modern Times and The Historiography of Modern Architecture. He has been active as a curator in architectural events and contributes as member of the board in a number of institutions. He is actively involved in DoCoMoMo International as Chair of the International Specialists Committee on Registers and he is a member of the Executive Committee. His recent work explores the reinvention of the city center in metropolitan Athens. Since 2012 he is a scientific consultant in the implementation of the Re-think Athens project.
