येल की साउथ एशिया काउन्सिल को सशक्त, समृद्ध बनाने में प्रो. शिवरामकृष्णन अप्रतिम योगदान है। भाषा और साहित्य के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता ने काउन्सिल के भाषा कार्यक्रमों को हर तरह से सहयोग दिया। जिससे हिन्दी कक्षाओं के उन्नयन और विस्तार को भी नई दिशा मिली। येल “हिन्दी डिबेट” जैसी महत्वपूर्ण परंपरा की स्थापना में उनकी अहम भूमिका अविस्मरणीय है।

हिन्दी डिबेट  के वार्षिक आयोजनों में उनकी उपस्थिति ने हमेशा हमारे विद्यार्थियों का उत्साहवर्धन किया। भाषा की शिक्षा के प्रति उनका आत्मीयतापूर्ण सहयोग हमारे लिए प्रेरणा स्रोत रहा है। 

साउथ एशिया काउन्सिल के चेयर के रूप में और उसके बाद भी उन्होंने जिस उदारता से हमेशा सहयोग किया उसके लिए मैं हृदय से आभारी हूँ।

उनके छात्रों और साउथ एशिया काउन्सिल द्वारा आयोजित यह सम्मान समारोह स्वयं उनके गरिमामय व्यक्तित्व के प्रति गहरे आदर का प्रतीक एवं उनके दीर्घकालीन बौद्धिक और प्रशासनिक योगदान का साक्षी है। 

इस विशेष अवसर पर मैं उनके प्रति अपनी श्रद्धा, सम्मान और हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ व्यक्त करती हूँ। उनके कार्यों का प्रभाव भविष्य में भी विद्यार्थियों, शोधार्थियों, और बौद्धिक जगत के अध्येताओं को प्रेरित करता रहेगा।

In Honor of Professor Sivaramakrishnan

Professor Sivaramakrishnan’s extraordinary contributions to strengthening and enriching the South Asian Council at Yale are truly unparalleled and will remain deeply cherished for years to come. His enduring commitment to language and literature provided unwavering support to the Council’s language programs and opened new avenues for the growth and advancement of Hindi studies at Yale. His visionary role in establishing the Yale Hindi Debate, now a distinguished and enduring tradition, remains especially unforgettable.

His presence at the annual Hindi Debate events consistently inspired and encouraged our students. Equally meaningful has been his warmth, generosity, and wholehearted support for language education, which has served as a source of inspiration for us.

Both during his tenure as Chair of the South Asian Studies Council and in the years thereafter, Professor Sivaramakrishnan has extended his guidance and support with generosity. For this, I remain extremely grateful.

This celebration, organized by his students and the South Asian Studies Council, stands as a reflection of his gracious personality, the deep admiration he commands, and the lasting intellectual and administrative contributions he has made over the years.

On this special occasion, I express my sincere respect, admiration, and warmest wishes. The impact of his work will continue to inspire students, scholars, researchers, and members of the broader intellectual and South Asian community for generations to come.
