Gerardo Sanchez Nateras

Gerardo Sánchez was born in Mexico City. He has worked on a number of educational projects that seek to bridge the gap between the Academy and society in general. He is currently finishing his Doctoral studies on History at El Colegio de México. His work explores the difficult relationship between Latin America and the United States during the Cold War, trying to understand not only the conflicts, but also the confluence of projects and ideals during this period. His dissertation examines the case of the Nicaraguan Revolution between 1977 and 1979, reevaluating the importance of transnational links between states, multilateral organisms and non-state actors to understand the end of the Cold War in Latin America, and the construction of a new multi-polar international paradigm.
