Yale Interdisciplinary Conference on Migration and South Asia
The South Asian Studies Council, the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, and the Departments of Anthropology, Economics, History, and Political Science at Yale University are pleased to announce a call for papers for an Interdisciplinary Conference on Migration in South Asia. The conference will convene at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut on October 26th - 27th, 2018.
The purpose of this conference is to gather an interdisciplinary group of scholars with expertise on South Asia to examine the implications of past, present, and future movements of people of the region, and to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange on key motivating questions, modes of inquiry, standards of evidence, and directions for future research. Top scholars on migration across disciplines have confirmed their attendance, including Ran Abramitzky (Professor of Economics, Stanford University), Katharine Donato (Professor of International Migration, Georgetown University), Jens Hainmueller (Professor of Political Science and Immigration Policy Lab, Stanford University), Renisa Mawani (Professor of Sociology, University of British Columbia), Filippo Osella (Professor of Anthropology, University of Sussex), Mark Rosenzweig (Professor of Economics, Yale University).
