Isaac Chinyoka
Isaac Chinyoka received his Master of Science in Development Studies from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe. He is a Research Fellow and PhD Candidate at the Centre for Social Science Research and Sociology department at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. Current research explores variation in public policy with a focus on the provision of social grants (social cash transfers) for poor families with children in United States of America and selected Southern African countries (South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe). He is interested in comparative public policy- social protection, poverty, family policy, health and the environment. Isaac has worked as a research consultant, humanitarian and development practitioner for national and international Non-Governmental Organisations in Southern Africa, teaches family and economic sociology courses on families, poverty, development and governance as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UCT, has published and reinforced his international experience on poverty reduction interventions through presenting his work in Africa, UK and USA.
