Joy Shan
Joy recently graduated from Yale College, where she studied English and nonfiction writing. Outside of class, she edited the Yale Daily News Magazine and led backpacking trips for incoming freshmen. She’s spending this year at the University of Cape Town’s African Centre for Cities. Her research explores the ways in which public transportation in Cape Town intersects with the city’s literary cultures: how taxis, trains, and busses have shaped different communities of readers and writers across the Western Cape Province.
