Marianne Jade Buffat
Marianne Jade Buffat is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Business Humanities and Law at Copenhagen Business University. Her research focuses on the impact of European data privacy regulations on data commodification business strategies. She is especially interested in assessing the effectiveness of data regulatory systems in achieving data governance objectives through the lens of digital business strategies and their evolution in response to changes in the legislative context. Her project also investigates the viability of promoting alternate compliance models based on incentivising self-adhesion to rights-based values in order to supplement the existing regulatory systems. She holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex and a double degree in French and English Law. Before joining CBS, Marianne worked in consultancy in the legaltech sector on automated contract management solutions. She strongly believes in technology as a driver for human-centric development, and is currently Vice-President of Copenhagen Business School's PhD Association.
