Paul Rink

Paul Rink holds a J.D. from Yale Law School as well as a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Paul was a Princeton in Asia fellow at both Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore and the International Water Management Institute in Sri Lanka prior to his graduate studies. He has focused his academic and professional pursuits broadly on climate change law and policy, working for environmentally oriented organizations ranging from Earthjustice International to Our Children’s Trust. As an extension of his work for Our Children’s Trust, he contributed a chapter about youth-driven climate change litigation to the Yale University Press publication, A Better Planet: 36 Big Ideas for a Sustainable Future. In addition, an academic comment that he wrote on the same subject received a silver medal in the International Sustainable Development Law Center’s 2018 Climate Law and Governance essay competition. He has also co-authored a book chapter on international disaster law. During his Fox Fellowship, Paul will conduct research on the ways in which market forces can promote or derail the underlying objectives of international environmental law, focusing on Mexico’s market-based, deforestation reduction policies as a case study.
