Fox International Fellowship Adds Global Partner Institutions
The Fox International Fellowship at the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale has expanded to include partner universities in Singapore, Canada, Australia, and Denmark. The Fox International Fellowship is a graduate student exchange program between Yale University and now 17 world-renowned partner universities.
The new partner institutions are the National University of Singapore; the University of British Columbia; the Australian National University and the University of Melbourne partnership; and the University of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Business School partnership.
“This exciting expansion of the Fox Fellowship program will elevate it to new heights internationally, and will further increase the impact the Fox Fellow alumni will make worldwide,” said Ben Cashore, the Joseph C. Fox Academic Director of the Fox International Fellowship and a Professor of Environmental Governance and Political Science at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
Established in 1988, the goal of the Fox International Fellowship program is to enhance mutual understanding between the United States and other countries by promoting international scholarly exchanges and collaborations among the next generation of leaders.
Fox International Fellows are selected for their potential to become leaders in fields that are policy significant, historically informed, and socially meaningful. Fellows’ research projects and academic interests reflect the topics that many of the world’s major decision-makers face, as well as those that have the potential to open new channels of debate. There are more than 550 Fox Fellow alumni around the world.
“We are very grateful to Joe Fox and his wife Alison Barbour Fox for their extraordinary generosity over the years, and for their active role in the program,” said Ian Shapiro, Henry R. Luce Director of the MacMillan Center, and Sterling Professor of Political Science. “The Fox International Fellowship program is an important part of the MacMillan Center because its fellows’ research contribute practical solutions to critical problems in the world.”
