Welcoming Our Incoming Fox International Fellows for the 2024-25 Academic Year!
We are pleased to welcome our new cohort of incoming Fox International Fellows at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, marking the beginning of an enriching year in our exchange program. This year, we proudly host 22 fellows representing 18 partner universities from across the globe, including Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Ghana, Brazil, France, Denmark, Turkey, UK, Germany, Israel, South Africa, India, Singapore, China, Japan, and Australia. Each fellow brings unique insights and experiences, contributing to a dynamic environment that encourages thoughtful dialogue and collaboration on pressing social issues.
This year’s fellows are engaged in research that spans a wide range of critical topics, including climate policy, cybersecurity, constitutional law, development economics, labor rights, and public health. By participating in interdisciplinary and transnational discussions, they will advance their academic pursuits while addressing complex global challenges with creative solutions. The fellowship encourages active participation at Yale University, enhancing the academic community and fostering meaningful connections.
As they immerse themselves in their new environment, fellows will participate in cultural activities, and conduct fieldwork that supports their research. This experiential learning will be valuable as they build relationships with peers and mentors, creating a supportive network that extends beyond their time as fellows.
On August 20th, as part of their orientation, the incoming Fox Fellows and the Fellowships team from the MacMillan Center engaged with the rich history of New England and Connecticut at the Mystic Seaport Museum. The day included explorations of historic home replicas and the Charles Morgan whaling ship, along with a scenic boat tour of the Mystic River, and the opportunity to learn to navigate paddles and oars!
We are eager to see how this talented group of individuals will engage with their host communities and contribute to the global discourse on social impact. As they share their expertise and perspectives, they will not only enrich their own experiences but also contribute to the broader mission of the Fox Fellowship: to enhance mutual understanding and provoke productive dialogue around complex challenges.
